A couple of years ago, before sterling collapsed against the dollar, I came across a 28mm flatslide Mikuni. Turned out to be a VM28.

Am trying to make it work with a tuned 225cc Mugello and a torquey B-Race expansion.

Anyone with a good starting point for this carb? Have looked at the WCLW site, which is interesting but was wondering if anyone on this site has used a VM28 and to what effect...

i posted a question last year about the TM 28mm

I find the TM28 Mikuni very difficult to dial in. So difficult that I don't sell it or recommend it to others. I struggled with one on a TS1 for many thousands of miles before finally giving up. On paper it looked like it was an ideal match but I've enjoyed the engine much more with the TMX35. That's not to say that smaller TM or TMX carbs can't work well. The TM28 is sort of the oddball of the TM/TMX family.
you could try him or
