greetings all. i am fitting a gp200 block with large mounts in a series 1 frame, there is a recess between the mounts and the tube that holds the cones causing play and an off center back wheel. looking at the small mounts in an old series 1 casing they sit proud at this point.
anyone had this problem? and can i use washers to pack it out?
cheers Simon
large engine mounts on a s1 frame
Do you mean there's a gap? What frame cones are you using? S3 ones (which have a chamfered edge and stick out of the frame a bit) or the original ones (which will be flush with the frame)?
i took an engine out of a sx 150 and there was some shims between the cones and the mounts now i dont know if they were there from new or if someone had put them there . but they were there

thanks for the reply's lads. Ian yes there is enough of a gap to allow the engine to twist. i am using SLJ offset cones to clear an LTH manifold.
they sit slightly proud and have a chamfered edge. for series 3 i presume?
shocky that's interesting to hear, could be a easy solution.
