I'm going to be building a TS1 engine shortly and the last part that I need (this far, you always seem to need more!!) is a chain. I always see IWIS is regarded as the best chains to use. I have also used IWIS in the past and never had any problems. But, I seem to be having a hard time finding them on this side of the globe! Mec Eur chains are available everywhere. What chain should I be using? And why are IWIS known as the best?
Thanks

IWIS - the company is supposedly used as timing chain supplier to mercedes (and bmw?)
thats not to say that the actual chains for the lambretta are the same design/product as the ones on a merc

apparently the stronger ones are the solid link ones as apposed to the split link ones. uk seem to stock split and you have more chance of getting a solid one from german supplier (lth maybe?)

i use them and had one stretch on an rb engine and was returned - didnt hear any feeback but the one i use now seems fine

I dont see a reason why IWIS is any better than REGINA or IRIS for that matter. Iris have proven to be superb chains. IMHO the only tangable difference on them is the "made in Spain" sticker in the box of one and the "made in germany" in the box of the other... Not to sound patriotic over here, but IRIS are excellent chains.

I heard the IWIS lambretta chains are TVR timing chains. May be obtainable from a TVR spares dealer.
