I have got more than 3 switches, all the 8-cable ones, from various origins (india, one dead Casa brought back to life, and another one of dubious -spanish or italian- origin).
All them are the typical Series 3 trapezoidal unit.
I intend to fit them in 3 project scoots, featuring an AC 6-pole electrical system.
Is it possible? Would it work or should I isolate or bridge one cable?
Maybe fitting an AC switch into a DC machine is impossible, but maybe, how about the other way round? (which is what I would want) Is that possible?
Hope one of the gurus turns around and solves me that doubt.
All the best and happy scootering

There is no difference internally between the seven wire AC and DC series 3 switches. The only difference externally is the colour of the pilot light feed which will be grey (battery) or purple (non battery), and the non battery will have an extension on the brown to feed the horn.
I believe the eight wire ones are based on the series 2 type and have grey and purple. What are the colours of yours?
The Indian eight wire one is probably indicator type.

Hi,
Thanks for you input.
At least I will be able to use one VOUS (very old used stock) switch in my Eibar TV S2.
Maybe it's a 8-wire switch series 2 based, as grey and purple are present. At least there is
-the brown wire, which splits at the bullet connector and goes to the horn
-plus the white horn lead.
-Blue and red for main and low beam
-one yellow
-one black
-and the other one which is kinda purple or violet, as it's discoloured.
But the most important thing is that I'll be able to use it.
