Peks story:
I remember that I love motorcycles from the age of 7. At that time it was 1980, because my teenage friends are always watching the TV broadcast of the motorcycle racing. They had always taken me to tour with their motorcycles also. So the motorcycle had been in my thoughts all the time. From the beginning I always rode the Sport motorcycle, Naked motorcycle and Chopper motorcycle until 1999 then I discover and have in my possession my first Lambretta.
I decorated my first series 2 Lambretta in the Mods style and was crazy about Mod accessories until in 2004; I had an idea that came up in my mind! If I can modify the wheel to take spokes I will be cool because no one can make this! But I did not start doing it because the limitations of materials and craftsmanship in the making at that time. So I just kept the idea to myself until I was ready.
Throughout the period of riding Lambrettas, I learned to fix them all manually that made me know about Lambretta engines and parts of equipment.
In 2006 I rode a Lambretta from Bangkok to Luang Prabang in Laos with a big group of other scooter enthusiasts. Journey of more 1000km on every terrain you can think. My Lambretta series 2 upgrade with an SX200 engine, it makes a deep impression in my mind and started the idea to make and upgrade the Lambretta for long touring.
Then I seriously started the spoked wheel project for my Lambretta GP in 2008. I have two friends who are working in the engineering shop and motorcycle service shop. They help me to produce and carry on improving my spokes wheel until it was a successful a prototype in 2011 May. Then sent to my friend Mr.Patrick of Saigon Scooter Centre for testing in Vietnam for fitting with his motorcycle fairing racing Lambretta project.
The special benefit of my spokes wheel is I have design it available to swap the disc to left or right side as you need and idea with a few screws. However it needs the inner tube because it uses spokes. I hope to upgrade this idea eventually to be tubeless design.
Eventually I would like to design rear hub to be the same too.
