Which would be best for an old school 240.. Old TV200 centre squish, with new central plug or off set ?

I'll hopefully end up trying both as I will with different exhausts, gearboxes et al til I find what works best, just wondered what every ones thoughts/experiences are/were!.

Have an Iron 240 and the head is Innocenti with offset plug. The kit seemed fine when it was assembled and running previously, although, now it's in bits.
If it was reassembled it would be with an SIL anti warp head...there is a huge difference in the cooling fin thickness alone. I've never had a centre plug head or seen anyone try and remove a plug from one...is it straight forward enough or is there any issues?
It also ran with a 34 Amal and 48mm Fresco originally, then changed to a 32VHSA and NK last time. Both with standard GP200 gearing.

I wouldn't bother with a centre plug head. Especially a TV 200 one. Too much aggro all round. TV 200 are too thin, will warp and not supply sufficient cooling. You will need to modify a cowling of course. Depending on what pipe you use you may need to remove the pipe to do a plug chop. Not practical. I messed around with a 18cc MB centre plug head, I picked up on ebay, for a while. Not for a road bike or the uninitiated. Bought for £30, sold to some nutter from Norway for over £100. :o. The gains for a centre plug head are generally moderate in the low to mid range and are not worth the hassle in my opinion.

Others may/will dissagree. ;)
