Heres my Jet 200, goes by the name of 'Wanky Jet'.

Cost me £40 about 7 years ago.......that was before it went to Taffspeed then Readspeed!

Original patinered condition with the addition of stickers!

Original Jet Autisa Barrelled engine that is Stage 5 tuned with 34mil Dellorto and JL Pipe. Last dynoed at 18.2 bhp. Real torquey motor, pulls like a train. Been GPS clocked at over 80mph, easily as fast as my GTS250 but not as comfortable.

Engine is the Standard Autisa Cast Iron Top End,

It was originally left with Taffspeed to tune whilst I went overseas with the RAF, It was ported, matched, polished by them with a 25mil Dellorto and a Clubman and was putting out 15bhp. I ran it like this for a few years until the piston let go just outside of Liverpool on the way to an LCGB Isle of Man Rally.

At the time I was racing a Group 4 Lammy and was part sponsered by Readspeed, so the Jet went off to Jerome.....He tweaked, ported, and polished a little more. Once finished it was built to Stage 5 and dynoed at 18bhp.

It has been gps clocked at over 80mph, the most inpressive thing though is the torque, it pulls like a train!

So........

Stage 5 Autisa Cast Iron Barrell,
Profilled Head,
Asso Werks Piston,
SX200 Standard Gears,
5 Plate Clutch,
30mil Dellorto...........OPEN MOUTHED!!!
JL Road/Race Pipe,
Diablo 18lt tank.

Thats it standard everything else!

HOWEVER!!!!!

I have recently blown the top end! The ring dropped and blew it. Top end is now at MBD getting a rebore/hone, Racetour piston and new reprofiled head.
The best bit is how you got it here.
Oh Yes!

My mate was posted to Cyprus with the RAF, I helped them out a fair bit before they left with storage etc etc.

Once there he searched for scooters to buy eventually dropping on a deal of the century.......

For £1000 he bought.......

The original Jet200,
Cyprus restored SX150,
Cyprus restored Cento 100,
Cyprus restored Vespa 100.

He loaded the scoots onto a pallet at Akrotiri and by the international bartering currency of a slab of beer he had them shipped back to RAF Lyneham on an RAF Hercules.

I paid the Import charges for all 4 Scoots which came to £40, (We valued them very low!!) I then stored the SX and Vespa until they returned to the UK and sold the Cento on Ebay for £800. The Jet was mine to keep!

That was in 2002 and the rest is history, I've been all over the UK and into Europe on this bike and usually it has been super reliable, only ever breaking down 3 times in 8 years.

When I first got it from Lyneham, I drained the old fuel, filled it up, changed the plug and fired it up. It seemed to run OK so I pumped the tyres up, loaded up my gear on the original flat spare wheel holder on the back and set off for the Sandford Rally. Not only did it get me there it also left my then wifes new PX200Disc for dead on the motorway! It was flying! 70mph+!

On the way home the HT cap fell apart and we pulled into a garage, around the back was some scrap cars, an HT lead was nicked off one of these cars and fitted.......I still had the same HT lead fitted about 2 years later!!

Came you remember that rally Soosh!?

It's been a superb scoot and is definately a keeper, I'm never gonna get rid of it, packed with character!
