ts1 reeds question

hello all i would like to fit some boysen 2 stage reeds in my ts1 but they only fit without the reed cages can i run it like that would it be okay or do i need to modify reedblock?

with a RD350 reedblock? No problems at all!

Remove the stops, you dont need them with the Boyesen reeds.

when you say stops do you mean the metal strips they come with or the actual cages ?

Remove the bendy bits of metal and put the new reeds on, held in place with the two supplied metal strips using the original screws. If you use the the original bent bits of metal ( Stays or Stops) they will restrict the operation of the two stage reeds

i put the 2 stage reeds in my bike and phoned mb developements about whether to use the cages or not, they said it was a matter of preference and the reeds would perform the same with or without the cages...thought it was maybe safer to run with the cages because of the closeness of the reed block to the piston.. i've been running mine with the cages on a yamaha reedblock with a spacer for over a year now without any difference in performance..
