Can anyone tell me what distance (in mm) the bearing, on the opposite side to the disc, should be pushed into the hub ?

It goes in until it rests upon the spacer tube on the inside. Make sure the tube is not wonky, or the bearing will not be all the way home. I have a small hole drilled in the workbench for this job. I have an old axle that has been ground down a hair and I install this through the bench hole,through the bearing that is circliped in place, through the spacer tube and then insert pre-frozen and lubed bearing and tap lightly with a hammer and drift until is is home against the spacer tube.
Sorry it's not the exact answer you were looking for, but to get that measurement, measure from the inside edge of the circlip and add the length of the spacer tube.
I do not know the length of the spacer tube off hand. They are in the shed, in the cold and I am in the warm, in the house
