LTH RB Inlet....Intake velocity

Anybody using an LTH inlet on their RB? Wondered if there were any performance gains to be had or is it just a case of better carb clearance?
I know there is a school of thought that suggests that the bigger the inlet/reed the better, but there is also another that suggests intake velocity is more important. I'm guessing LTH have gone down the intake velocity route and have made the inlet with built in stuffers and smaller aperture similar to the Tassinari.
Anyone have any comments or am I barking up the wrong tree.
