ts1 barrel length

hello people ive finally just got round to building a engine for my wifes scoot i bought a ne ts1 kit about 18 months ago from the first batch that af had made after a long time out of stock, using one on there heads the squish is 3mm with a gasket and 2mm without, just measured the barrel and 102mm gasket face to gasket face and im sure its ment to be 1000-101

just wondered if any has had the same problem and how the got around it.

so do you have approx 1mm negative deck height....?
for eg piston 1mm below top of barrel at TDC....

i,ve not yet seen a ts1 barrel over 101.6mm .......so maybe measure again and check.
most seem to be 101.45 ish.... :D
but anyways.....3mm squish is bad,2mm squish is not good..
your options are to A ...remove 1mm from top of barrel
B....remove 1mm from base of barrel
C....leave barrel as is and remove material from cyl head gasket surface...

and obviosly there is no need for a head gasket,....
base gaskets can also be done away with which would save you say .35mm...

I would use it to your advantage and machine the cylinder and head so the cylinder recesses into the head.
Turn On, Tune In, Cop out!

if your after a more touring state of tune ,then remove from base....
