Ive seen stacks of second hand carbs for sale cheap, previously used on Aprilia rs bikes, Dellorto 28 PHBH etc.
Are these ok for lammys when re-jetted?

yeah they will work but you might find that they have not got the brass shroud that protudes into the carb where the needle goes as ive found with a honda dellorto, which had a very thin needle compared to ya normal phbh off the shelf jobby

You can use them no problems. But you need to do a few mods. first.
The spray tube/atomiser bush ( the brass part that protudes into the carb bore/venturi.) if it does not protude then its a four stroke and needs changing.
Its a push fit and costs about £9 [url]http://www.dellorto.co.uk/merchandise/p ... nID=24/url]
Then carb has two small holes at about 6 o`clock one the front of the carb. the right hand one will be blocked with a brass plug (on a four stroke), this needs drilling out. the hole should go all the way through to the spray tube.
Obviously the jets and needle will need changing as appropriate. it also may have an extra jet this is a power jet and can be blanked of with a suitable screw/bolt.
Ive done these mods. recently on a 26mm and works fine. i can post some if you want?

if the carbs off a aprilia RS its a 2 stroke so it should be ok apart from jetting ,
you can also look at yamaha TZ , YZ , cagiva mito , suzuki , RGV , "the 250 is the engine aprilia used in there RS 250" , RM , infact theres loads of old 2 strokes you can look at for carbs ,
as fandango says you can even modify the diesel carbs

That true..... but some two stroke bikes with readvalves use four stroke carbs because they work better with read valves (on bikes) so always check that the spray tube extends in to the venturi. Four stroke carbs can be set up to run on a lammy , but they usually run weak at full throttle (perhaps thats why they use the power jet)lifes a drag wrote:if the carbs off a aprilia RS its a 2 stroke so it should be ok apart from jetting ,
