thought I would try a pure copper gasket 3mm thick slightly extended to act as a heat sink

on the test one havent extended the sides like I intended too,

but they take more time than I thought they would mainly because I Need to make a better holding tool

also realised they need finishing by hand to suit the exhaust and pipe being used

then realised that I not really sure that it will work

opinions sought

one in picture still to be finished, got too cold in garage

David - give it a go, what you got to lose?
Also did you see the thread about using the cylinder cowl as a heat shrink. I.E. using the stud extending connectors / nuts on all 4 head studs and drilling thru 3 new holes in the cylinder cowl.

if you use the cowling as a heat sink you could weld fins to the cowling underside letting the airflow under the scoot draw heat off?
