 looking @ the magside mod on the scootererotica racer...done for better cooling (air-flow)...ie grinding the alloy lip down.....is this a worthwhile modification on a fast road lambretta ? :)

well worth doing, but more so if you use a AF/ JB Plastitronic flywheel as they sit alot lower than the ~SIL fins IMO. ;)

Any mote details/pics of this mod? Is it not worth bothering with a SIL flywheel?

Is this a common thing on the track Paul?

Most scooters on the track are using a direct scoop for cooling, so there are no flywheel fans at all!

But Certainly anyone running a fan would modify to get as much air as possible circulating..... I'm stripping my race bike over christmas so will take some pics and publish.

My tinpot thinking said that if you remove material before 6 o'clock it would help in flowing the air back out of the flywheel cowl and not forward into the cylinder cowl.
