because I hate fitting the header pipe whilst keeping the cylinder cowling out of the way, I want to be able to use a stub type exhaust manifold, but also keep my Mikeck. [I have trimmed the cowling as much as I can, but, due to the length of the header pipe and the air scoop on the cowling I still can't fit the header, and then the cowling]
I have an NK pipe and another [slightly different to mine] Mikeck. So was thinking about using the stub & front of the NK with the last half & can of the Mikeck...
But could I retain the rubber bobbin mountings of the Mikeck [which I like] ?
Then [apart from the stub] the whole system would not be clamped directly to anything...?
Or could I bolt it to the 8mm casing studs [as the NK is] and keep the rear rubber bobbin for the can hanging off the bottom shock mount ? It would be nice to keep the middle fixing as is, as I made a plate up for my rearsets that the bobbin here is attached to...
Just really wondering if pipes can be completely "floating" or if a combination of rubber mounting & solid is advisable...?
