Vega Legshields for cutdowns

Where do people source Vega leggies for a cutdown?
How much modification does it need to fit an Li frame that is 2" short?
Any experience with the SSC Vega legshield? Or the CF ones?
Anyone help and details are appreciated. I love the look, just trying to plot my plan of attack!
Thanks

I've got some already modded for an Li type frame. Not up to par with the saigon ones but usable. Will try and take some pics when I can clear the snow from out of the way of the garage.

I had a set of fibreglass one from pm tuning years ago.
You have to cut a strip out right down the middle so it sits each side of the LI frame as they mount differently on the vega. Very easy job if you are using fibreglass ones.
They look best if you shorten the steering column as there is about 3" gap between top of leggies and handlebars, but what I did was mount my headlight underneath my drops to fill this area.
Hope it helps I would show you a pic of the scoot but i dont know how to post the image

Try Russ at Lincs Lambrettas, they were making them a while back.

If you are looking to buy some from ebay, then this is just a quick heads up for you. I bought some not too long ago that were very flimsy and only finished smooth on the front side, the rear was just rough glass. They were from a seller who has a lot of different glass items listed and puts the legshields on fairly frequently.
They were also very thin and wouldn't even support their own weight when placed on the floor and rested against a box...they just sagged down.
I never fitted them... so can't say if they lined up ok or not, but they wouldn't have lasted too long before the vibrations split them.
Ok Cheers
