Pitted Innocenti Rims

Have had a couple of original Innocenti rims blasted and primed. The outside of the rims are not too bad, but the insides have quite a bit of pitting. Is there any need to "cover" the pitting or can the tube happily sit against it? If people do "cover" it, what do you use? Cheers.

Personally, I'd have them blasted and powdercoated, this way the tend to be sealed and smooth.

A couple of coats of brush-on primer, and Bob's your auntie.

Where the rims are pitted, I would poke around with a point before coating, just make sure there isn't a real thin spot that could cause all sorts of dodgyness
