Both types will fit at the wheel end. But an Indian cable is required for a remade speedo. An Italian cable for an Italian speedo.

And i take it all the ones on fleabay are indian? Some say italian but are the same price as the indian ones. This seems odd to me as i thought they would be more :? Its the only thing that has stopped me buying an italian cable and speedo...?

If they're on ebay for around £20, they ain't genuine Italian. (possibly the face is Italian, on an Indian re-made)
Re-mades have two small screws at the back of the casing to hold the mechanism in. Italian originals have a lock-nut on the speedo connection thread.
Having said all of that, i've used three or four re-mades over the last few years, and they've been fine.

I just looked at the Scooter Emporium speedos on ebay. They say they are Italian cable fitting, but acknowledge they are re-made. I have no experience of these.

The main difference between them is the knurled ring that screws onto the speedo is different (smaller) on an Indian fitment than an Italian one. It is possible to change the knurled ring to fit whatever type of speedo you have.............
