Got a BGM/lightened flywheel on the Wifes Muggy, strong spark and lights no problems in a couple of years.

By the same token got one of the first varitonics on my GP, which must be about 6-7n years now and has done 1000s of miles and never let me down (seen loads of mates go through numerous other types of stator plates in that time).

Soz tells you nothng really :ugeek:

i run lammy backplate with vespa T5 coils and piaggio pick up, re-wired and all Araldited together, and an AF light flywheel, been like that for a while now and only problem ive had was crap on the magnets once causing a misfire. if i"d bought one , i would get a BGM stator, AFlight flywheel, and an Augusto to suit (which i"m thinking of trying for next year). buy the best you can afford. sitting at the side of the road for the sake of twenty quid starts getting to you after a while.

The Electrex one that MB were doing looked superb, I think it's the same one that Readspeed sell.

the readspeed ones good much better lights than the varitronic I ran before , and works with std cdi unit if you do have a problem and for those who need lots of extra lights theres the 3 phase one

Just fitted a readspeed 3 phase one, haven`t done many miles yet. But it does have auto retard built in ;)

I would like a standard six pole stator thats modified to take an external pick-up with all six of the laminates now being used to produce current through six rewired bobbins (three sets of two bobbins) for a larger battery which also supplies current for the ignition. with an early AF lightened flywheel or somthing similar with an external trigger for the pick-up.
Dont think I will ever get one but I would like one ;)
