jet handle bar snapped

is it ok to put a small sleave in the jet handle bar to have it welded where the oval hole is . can anyone tell me what that hole is for i can not see any reason why it just seems to make the bars weaker

hole will be for wires though you dont say which side ,any chance of a pic?

the holes are there for a reason. :D are,nt they..?

sorry its the gear change side, its not the hole for the cables in the casting its the one on the steel bar inserted into the casting below everthing that has snapped. the one with the slice cut into the end for the gear change bar to fit in, it snapped under the oval hole near to the headstock casting.

that hole would have been for indicator switch wires

thats ok then just spoke to my mate and he has already put a small leave in and welded it and grinded it down thanks for the info.
