Series 1 Drybuild

Hi guys,

I've been playing around quite a bit lately with my Series 1...

I'm just waiting to get a job so I can paint the thing!

I've been setting up a paint booth down the back of my arch - Lights are hung and I've got an expellair working, I just need to seal the end off! and clear the s**t out of there!!!!



This is the bike and all it's bits when I got it home in January this year.












It came with 2 right side panels but no left, but I picked up a really nice pair in kettering back in march and sold the 2 lefts to cover costs!

Frame breather air filter on PHBL25 carb and Gran Tourismo engine!

I got this exhaust from Saigon Scooter centre:




I had to space out the exhaust so I didnt have to cut my panel



I also had to extand the down pipe slightly

This is the Barrel and piston - We'll see how this runs!

Shortened manifold so I can use the air filter


Raised the boost port to the same height as the transfers (widened slightly too)

Slightly widened and lowered


Lightened (but hopefully not weakened too much!!!!

I've been sorting out the Hydaulic disc too (converted standard disc). I cant decide between a handlebar mounted mastercylinder and a semi hydro setup... I might start with semi hydro, and change to hydraulic if its no good!

All I need is a f@cking job now so I can buy paint and things!!!!

This is looking great i love to see garage projects like this please keep this thread going.
The scooter is looking good and you can already tell that this is going to be a smart bike.

Also please tell me what this exhaust pipe is the model number etc. Does it allow for fitting of the running boards???

Dryballs, Respect! Absolutely love it! As Byron said, like the touch of keeping the original air filter. Well documented, it looks great!

looking topper that man! i"d stick with the semi hydraulic to keep the bars looking clean, and a nice subtle paint job. rob miller has a GT186 in his series 2 (long stroke broady crank so a 195? or summat) and a 25mm phbl carb, and that pulls really well, and he says its really good on juice. i love the look of the framebreather airfilter set up, but think it might choke the motor a bit. maybes do a mock version, but have a foam filter instead. what colours you thinking about?
