bridged exhaust port on iron barrel

has any one successfull done a bridged exhaust port on an iron barrel?ive read about this in websters manual,using a piece of fin,preheated barrel before welding.any thoughts?

yes your on the right lines,thats the easy bit,welding the cast isn't,

Braize it on mate but leave plenty of area on it to disperse the heat and make sure the fin is snapped from the barrel that it is being welded to, something to do with the properties of the iron! apparently? We have done one in preperation for the Ron Moss challenge that will hopefully happen this year,, stay safe you freaks,, daz

what sort of width of exhaust port have you gone too on what bore?
