Im drilling my frame whilst its apart to run the cables/loom through. The holes will be a combination of round ones (10mm) and elongated ones (10mm wide & 15-20mm long). Does anyone know where i can get rubber grommets (correct word?) that will sit in the holes both round and elongated.
Ideally wanted to locate these before drilling to make sure i drill the diamiter to fit the rubber correctly.
Any advice on this undertaking greatly appreciated.

I needed a thin, elongated rubber for my legshields so I could feed a cable, and found the one I wanted in a metal wall box from a domestic 13A power socket. I found it in my electrics box in the shed, but if I had had to buy it, it would have been worth the 99p from B&Q for the right size of rubber.
Whenever I find a grommit, I never throw it away.

the trouble with gromets is that they are designed for sheet metal so are dificult to get to fit into the scaffold pole of a lammy as the groove is too small
me and a mate tried and failed on a cutdown so just rounded the edges smooth and painted it

tube thicknesses can vary if you like depending on the thickness of paint/powder coating on them.......
but 2.5/3mm would be more like it.........

As a sparky by trade and know about grommets etc - I'd reccomend grommet strip, it's a nylon material rather than rubber and is almost translucent.
You cut it to length and fit it into the hole just like a conventional grommet- the trick to stop it falling out is to set fire to a peice and wait for it to start melting then 'weld ' the piece youve fitted with molten plastic.
If you go into an electrical wholesalers they may give you a sample - they come in various thicknesses too.

Ill see if they actually turn up first, knowing my luck and the post office its unlikley...
Still havent been able to find one for a slot as opposed to a hole....
