ScootRS stamped side panels--Direct experience

That is my Li150 Special with the ScootRS stamped panels. The gap is about 1 inch. While I was disappointed I knew I was taking a gamble in testing these. I would be surprised to see these same panels fitting properly on somebody else's Lambretta. My Special may not be ideal but I doubt it is that far off. In the end, I use them in cold and rainy weather (I have a set of Li panels with louvers for hot weather). My Special is not a show bike so I am not too concerned with the appearance of the gap and nobody notices unless it is pointed out.
My experience with ScootRS parts has been okay overall. Their expansion chamber fit fine and was a good value for the dollar although I have since replaced it with a JL. The rack/carrier I purchased was also fine but is showing a bit of rust after three years of year-round riding (plenty of rain).
In our current "global economy," we frequently do not know the origin of the parts we are buying. I have purchased presumably high quality Italian and German parts only to get them into the garage and learn they are junk. I will never assume a part is good or bad based simply on the company that sells it.
You folks in the U.K. are blessed with a high concentration of Lambretta shops and parts manufacturers. My opinion is to support your local businesses whenever possible. Call around--somebody over there may have a set of these panels for you to see firsthand.

I took the chance and bought a pair. Shipping costs as much as the panels, instantly doubling the price.
The stamped panels look okay except for two issues.
1 They are too short
2 They are not drilled for badges or flashes

Aside from the appearance, the shortness is a problem when mounting them onto the scooter. The latches will not reach the spring. Fortunately, I had an old spare so I bent it up so the latches could reach it.
The gap is bigger than it appears in the photo. (TWSS)
