Hi guys,

You may or may not have seen I bought some parts from SSC recently as part of their closing down sale (I believe he is relocating to Thailand?)

I bought their motorcycle clutch conversion and an exhaust... a DJ style expansion

Anyway, I got the parts about 2 weeks after ordering them, which given I paid for sea freight is very good!
On first inspection, they all look great!

First the exhaust:
The first thing I notice is that it has proper mounts! not like other asian exhausts I've seen which just have a rubber bung which a bolt goes through. This has a proper buffer with an insert in it

The welds look good and the overall finish of the exhaust is great!
Time will tell how it performs!





Then the clutch! wow this looks really good! I cant wait to put this in and try it! I'm not sure what the clutch is out of, but I will try and find out so I can source replacement plates locally






The only thing that could be possibly improved is the plate that tensions the springs - there is nothing to locate the springs. I guess some kind of tophat would sort this?

According to the Scootering article the plates are from a Honda NSR 250.

Cool, thanks for that I'll have a look.

One thing that did occur to me was that with these clutch plates I should be able to get away with a much lighter weight oil - like an sae30 transoil. Not only is this easy to get hold of, but it should give the rest of the gearbox a better time too!

What are you putting them in Christiaan ?
Are they for the Series 1 ?

The pipe is for the Series 1 (GT206 engine)

The clutch is going into the TS1 as soon as my exhaust comes back from being repaired.

So the clutch will probably be worn out by the time the exhaust gets tested!

The forks are partially assembled to position the damper brackets, the chrome ring is off being rechromed, the engine is finished and ready to go! I have 99% of the parts to build the bike completely, I just need to paint it!

please can you make some pics of the buffer with the inserts from the DJ exhaust ??
I can not see excatly how this typ of buffers should work !

Yep can do... I did a trial fit the other day to see how it would fit. I'll take some pictures later today

Hi, I've been considering trying their clutch aswell, the only thing that has put me off is the fact they don't showw postage costs on their site, not that I found anyway, how much did the shipping cost?

The total package including postage came to £240.39

The clutch was 200 USD (£125) and the exhaust was 78 USD (roughly £50) So I paid about £175 for the parts and £65 postage.

I think adding the exhaust to the package would have added quite a lot to the postage price, but when oyu consider that viet pipes normally set you back £100 plus in the UK all up its not too bad!

The exhaust looks far better than my DJ copy from SSC years ago.

Does yours not have the bracket for the tail can to the shock mount? Mine did, but didn't last 5 minutes.
