Hi all,

I've been dry building my series 1 to see what bits I'm missing, what needs fettling etc

How do series 1 stands bolt on? can you buy series 1 stands? or is it easier to drill some holes and put a series 2 stand on?

Are series 1 forks different where the little inner mudguard fits? I tried to bolt the guard in today and it just doesnt look like it will fit!

I'm sure I had some other questions, but cant remember them!

Thanks in advance

i was under the impression that the series 1 and 2 non frame breather models were the same thing all but the bars and horn casing. mine was as original prior to restoration and from the frame number the lcgb thought it was a series 2. the forks should be the same, i use servetta forks as the rake gives a slightly longer wheelbase (aparently) and the inner mudgaurd just needed the whole drilling to bolt the mudgaurd in like on a bicycle.

thats as much as i know....i know the answers to the questions that you couldnt remember though if that helps

The stand will be the same as any other Series1 or 2, the brackets you need are these

and are held with 8 M5 nuts and bolts, there is a matching splash plate, later models had one early models didn't.
All these parts are available remade from any Casa Lambretta dealer, Scootopia, Cambridge Lambretta,Allstyles etc.

There are also early and late forks, each had a different inner mudguard.
Early forks had thinner legs, but the inner mudguard bracket was wider and the mudguard had a "squarer" cross section.
Later forks had fatter legs ,narrower bracket and the more semi-circular inner mudguard as per Series2 .

Mr. Stanton,

Do you mean that early S1's didn't have a splash plate? Mine doesn't, but I'd like one to keep crap out of the engine.

cheers
