SR175 Carb Clearance Issues (22mm Dellorto)????

Just fitting a SR175 kit to my series 1 using a 22mm dellorto carb. I have previously fitted the longer 200 engine mounts but I can't get the carb on as the fuel banjo on the carb clashes with the engine mount :( .
Has anyone had this problem and got round it? Is my only option to fit a smaller LI engine mount to the carb side?
If I do go down this route, would I have problems having a longer mount on the kickstart side and a shorter one on the carb side, should I fit smaller ones either side? Also would I be able to use either the long or short engine bolt, or would I need to get a special length one which is in-between the two?

can you just twist the carb round a bit.
ideally it would sit vertical, but it will still work when lent over slightly.
some combinations of mounts, manifolds and carbs seem to work ok, others require the carb to be at an angle.

Try BarryP on this forum. I think he had a slightly similar experience, from memory the solution involved getting hold of a different from Beedspeed manifold and slotting it....

I've tried it at sevral angles but if you twist it so the banjo misses the block then the bit on the top that the cable fits into that raises the slide hits the mount :(

You need to elongate one of the holes on the inlet manifold so you can swing the manifold forwards a bit- this will allow the carb to sit at the correct position.

Elongate the shallower hole on the manifold a tad.

I tend to do this as a matter of course now on any SR/ Muggie conversion
