kickstart shaft hitting clutch top plate

Has anybody come across this problem before. I've got a Li125 with a 175 kit on it, and when warm the kickstart shaft appears to be hitting the clutch top plate. When I take the side case off there are wear marks to the top plate and the kickstart shaft itself and yesterday when road testing the scooter the circlip was knocked out of its groove causing the clutch to separate.

Any help will be appreciated

Darren

i've never had a lambretta yet that didn't have this problem!

you can get thinner top plates to help, also you can grind some of the material of the shaft, being careful of course. there are also different types of shaft to try. honestly though, its really really common, although never had it bad enough to take circlip out before. you might wanna check your basket is seated properly.

make sure you have the right size washer behind the kickstart circlip. mine was wrong and the spring tension was pulling it into the oil seal.

just do what leigh says shaft more than likely moving a bit just simply reshim your kickstart shaft outside the engine i.e take off kickstart circlip replace washer with a thicker one or bung 2 of em on .
