Is there just the two kinds of light housing which will go onto a GP: the ribbed black plastic, the cheap alloy shiny ribbed ones? Is there anything else available which will fit of comprising better construction and not using the double screw method to hold the red plastic lens on?

original: ribbed black plastic rearlight. made by 'cev'.

best repro: italian ribbed black plastic rearlight made by 'flli. bossatta'.
from outside theres no differnece. reflector/bulb holder is different.

(far) not as good as italian repro: indian ribbed black plastic repros.

alternatively to these you can buy an indian alloy ribbed type or also a standart series 3 alloy
one which is not ribbed and good italian repros are made by 'flli. bossatta', available through
casa lambretta or other dealers around the globe.
not too far from original, as swiss export gp´s (dl´s) had these series 3 rearlights (black painted) on the back...

there are many variations of non-original rearlights 'without 2screws' if you look around at saigon scooter center or scootrs...
(not my cup of tea as i think cev original is unbeatable...)
the best option might be building one by yourself. get a series 3 rearlight housing
and look out for a motorcycle lens (vintage, led, etc..) you like and adapt it.
far cooler than cheapo blingbling..

Thats what i was thinking of - something different, either completely eg motorcycle off something else or perhaps getting a S3 type non GP. Wondered if i can just angle grind S3 to fit?

Has anyone done anything vastly different themselves?
