cutdown rear runners

partly to get a bit more travel on my rearset brake, but mostly cos I like the look [reminded by sp1v's avatar], I am planning to fit some rear pegs and just have some small runners to cover the frame and retain the bridge piece neatly.
easist to just cut and adapt a set of runners, or is it better to make some from scratch ?
are originals strong enough with only being supported at the front ? I would use them when two-up and operate my rear brake with my heel. I was thinking I could make some from thicker steel... or would that be a lot of unnecessary fabrication ?

you could use the runners and adapt if you want but you may want to bolt a support to the stand cross member if you intend to put any weight on them though

I've got a pair you can borrow Byron, try them out and decide if they're any good. If they are you can just copy them.
They're 'aged' too so should look OK on your scooter !
Do you want me to go and dig them out of the shed ?

aw cheers mate, that's very generous of you.
and i still owe you for sending me that template for my Mikeck bracket.
don't go digging just yet, I'll see if i can find any locally first.
I'd probably rather not cut into mine if i can avoid it, just in case I end up prefering it with complete runners. someone's gotta have a pair sitting unloved in a shed around here.
and remember to get in touch if you're working over this way.

Yes I'm in Norfolk this weekend, Garboldisham is on the B1068 half way between Thetford and Diss.
