just taken apart a 190 engine.
unknown background, but all looks ok
possibly needing some new rings though...
64mm bore, barrel is 94mm, so I'm guessing based upon webster's Suzuki 190 ?
anyone confirm this is a TS185 piston ?
nicey_piston.jpg
it has IKYP and 29900 Made in Japan inside
thanks

It looks like the later 'ER' type which has the ring pegs in the preferred position

What's the barrel like - Top and tailed by the sounds of it.

The link to the photo seems to have disappeared, but 29900 is one of the part numbers that Suzuki use for the TS185 pistons. In fact, 29900 is one of the later pistons, so it might well be the ER version.

Mitaka and Hi Level make good copies of the Suzuki piston, and both go beyond the Suzuki oversizes to 65.5mm and 66mm.

I hope this is helpful.

I think so, though each ring is differs: the top ring is chamfered so the bottom ring will not fit in the top ring slot, and the top ring has to be the correct way up.

oh thanks. good tip
both rings fit in the top groove, but they are quite worn. 0.8mm ring gap
there's a little "T" on both, this faces "up" I guess...
