. The seat was UK made originally, I think, although I picked it up of Italian e-bay a couple of years back. I have to say they don't seem to come up very often. However, having had the cover and foam off the base, it wouldn't take much to take an old snetterton and knock up the back bit to weld on.

Agreed, mate. My fave lammy colour too. I bought it in 2004 and ran it for a couple of years on original paint, like yours. But, using it every day, the rust on the frame just kept getting worse so I stripped it, powder coated frame metallic silver, along with forks, wheels etc, then painted the rest.byron wrote:tidy. you can't beat an Azzurro blue Special

Engine is v2 Mugello 186, Keihin PWK 28 bgm copy, PM 25 exhaust, standard 125 Special gearbox with 47/18 sprockets.

I keep meaning to change my gearing from standard. it pulls away well around town, but feels too revvy on longer runs. is the GP200 equivalent gearing a marked improvement ? I guess, yes. I too have a v2 Mugello, with a 28mm VHSA and 80s Mikeck.

When I got the scoot it had standard gearing, carb, and a 150 rebore. It would revs it's nuts off in top with this set up.
Anyway, I put a 175 conversion on, Clubman, and upjetted the 20mm dell'orto. At this point I changed the gearing_____the GP200 gearing (which it is in effect) was fine on the 175, and it's been good on the Muggy too (both with a Clubman and on a PM25). Pulls fine throughout, no big gaps between gears, and if you're going at a reasonable speed, it has to be a fairly steep hill to cause you to drop to 3rd.

when the sun shines, England has such a beautiful sky. Makes the scoots and everything that surrounds them look magnificent...
