I'm just going to build my top end. I've Yamaha 110 conrod in a standard SIL barrel with a standard size SR piston, I have the 3mm packing plate but the head is not skimmed so to get the squish I may have to put the packing plate on with gasket seal......
Has anyone tried this set up on a SIL barrel? Any tips?

I use a packer on my RB with just loctite gasket sealer, no leaks so far.

When I use packers with no gaskets I use 1104 gasket sealer. Very good for gasketless joins.

For heads this stuff is the best I've ever used and I swear by it now. Its been stopping brit bikes leaking for years!

Thanks very much for the feedback.

Which would you compromise the better squish or the lower port timings?
