6 Plate Clutch Fitting Problem

I did a dry fit of my 6 plate clutch and came across a problem.
I'm led to believe it's the spider.
The first image is the plates seated in the basket without springs. The top plate is seated onto the inside lip of the spider.
Here's the clutch fitted
Not sure what to do, so could someone take a measurement as below to see what they get so I can compare?

Cant see exactly whats going on but it looks like the spider isn't sitting all the way down on the spline of the main-shaft (gear-cluster)... I could be wrong and probably am...

Hello Jims.
I've no idea what's going on either
It goes down as far as it can.

Have you got a spare main shaft... if so try pairing them up off the engine use a little release oil on the splines...

I might be wrong (but sometimes the fit of the splines is a little interferance between Mainshaft and spider... Cus visually it looks standard length same as the sprocket looks standard height) but I would expect it to go further onto the spline... Have you had the center nut on all the way down..??

It was bolted down tight showing a couple of mm of the shaft. I took it for granted that was as far as it was supposed to go.

Probably its made wrong then, if it was bolted up all the way up...

Just having another look and with the flang sat on and it's not seating to the the bottom properly. If you look at the middle of the pic you'll see. It's about one maybe 2mm from seating properly.
