Citroen BX pads

I have seen on here a few people mention the use of slightly modified Citroen rear disk pads in their standard Lambretta disk brake.
My questions are; which compound are they using, will the cheap and nasty MDC pads see an improvement or do we require genuine Citroen ones or are there some performance ones on the market?
Secondly why should we see an improvement with these? Are they magic? Or is it to do with a compound they use? In which case why are none of the aftermarket suppliers using this compound on Lambretta pads?

I was of the understanding that 2CV pads were being used and I believe that Jerome at Readspeed was machining a little off them for easy fit some time ago

2CV pads .....less than a tenner for two sets???

How do these compare to sintered pads? They're the handbrake pads out of a Citroen 2CV right?

Tried them years ago for racing when it was quite hard to get hold of decent pads, dont bother just use the sintered pads that are available nearly everywhere, its not worth the arse on turning them down as they dont work that well anyway
Just my opinion of course

Whilst I got increased braking I found the sintered pads scream like a banshee even after applying copperslip etc

Yeah they can make a bit of noise,i know a bloke who used one standard and one sintered pad and it quietened it down and the brake still worked well.
You can get full vented discs now which make a big difference,i think they retail at around £60 and are supposed to be a lot better than standard i havent used one but again i know a bloke who has and he says you can tell the difference straight away.

I've got a full ventilated disc on my GP (Remade disc Brake unit). Can't really see any difference. I do however ensure that the maintenance, Adjustment of fixed pad, coppergreasing the floating disc pins etc makes a vast difference to it's efficiency..............

The fully vented disk I believe is a UK-made alloy item with large tear-drop cooling holes that weighed about a third of the standard Innocenti items. I believe someone was adverting these in scootering a year or three ago. Does anyone know who was making these or where I could buy one?
