Ive just finished my series 2,i wanted to keep it simple its got an AF stage 4 on it,24 jetex and a Af 42mm Clubman and its an absolute pleasure to ride NO PROBLEMS. Now, my new project is a 150 special and im thinking of having the Casa 185 kit fitted, does anyone now the best set up for it or are there any nightmare stories.. im getting a mixed reception about this kit, any advice would be apprieciated :geek:

I've test ridden the Sx150 kitted scoot at Scootopia. It's using the 185 kit, SH1/18 carb, mainjet 118, pilot 50 with a clubman and 17x46 sprockets on standard SX150 gears. Pulls like a train in 1st and 2nd from standing and copes with the jump from 3rd to 4th easily + Scootering fitted one to a GP150? last year, perhaps you could contact them.
I've not heard of any problems with the 185 but there are probably not a huge number fitted. Ive also been informed that 'Patch' at Scooter Surgery has fitted/sold a fair few with no comeback.
I have the 210 and that has a problem with the machining at the top of the piston causing a pinking like rattle......but this has been ackknowledge by Casa and will probably be resolved by a replacement piston in the near future.

It's a top quality kit, the finish is superb, but it's set up to give plenty of low down grunt and not top end power, if that's what you want then it's a great kit, if you want to chase TS1's then forget it. I suppose it can be tuned to match a Mugello for top end power but if you wanted that you'd be better with a Mugello from the off. Probably great if you ride 2 up a lot.

The casa is a great kit if you dont want to be running flat out all the time. Has tons of low down grunt and yes mine hits a wall at around 6000RPM. To get a decent top speed I have a 125 box with a 19 x 46 22mm Jettex and a Ancilotti.
Faster than a standard GP200 with very good MPG, about the same as a 150, Reliable, starts and runs smooth. Not bad as it was out of the box. May be looking at a few tweaks with ports this winter, mainly coz i think its got more to give, if I trade in some of the grunt.

Should be 81 links, but phone them and they'll be happy to tell you.

Agree with the comments about torque and max revs. It seems to pull so well that any final drive down to 4.5 is tolerated...........
