Best material to make R1 shock bushes from???

Have been looking though the old R1 shock threads to try and find some specific info on what type of material is best to make bushes from but had no luck.
I bought some of the clauss studio ones a couple of years back but with the huge R1 thread with the broken springs I was hoping to find out what the best possible type was.
My work has about 8 lathes, and I can get urethane/polyurethane etc for free, and the fitters owe me a few favours. Had a go using urethane based off the drawings on the smellofdeath site but it seems far too soft to work with, although I've found a fella that reckons he can turn them up for a reasonable fee.
The smellofdeath site mentioned a material called superflex but we dont have that here in NZ so any info on what hardness (durometer...????) would be a HUGE help.
Thanks
