Sorry being similar to my last post but i just dont want to go wrong like i did 3 yrs ago.

Considering a 150 GP 1978 indian with everything done sorry if you have read the previous post but this is different and i need to know what way to go.

i saw an imola kit which i thought only came with the barrel and reed valve for £300+ now seem to be a complete kit. I have hear claims of 20+ bhp - dont know what is needed extra to get this?

Which route sounds better in terms of BHP gain, reliability(to an extent), speed, and of course ££££


Unless i am missing something (yes i know i need conrod.crank) but have imola kits come down a bit in price? under £400 for barrel, piston, reed valve etc from taass or whatever they are called. get it fitted and fettled by a good tuner. Or are imolas tuned to an extent?

Anyway given that kit VS getting a Suzuki TS185 piston, then source a barrel (not sure what i am looking for here but dont want 900 mile run in again) oh and add in a conrod. Get it tuned by a good tuner

what would be the better option as stated above?

Roughly, how much cost differences as i dont know what other barrel i should really get?

I really do appreciate any advice here, and to certain ppl who have already pm's me with great advice. Shocky i am still think HB but we have a tuner nearer who is rated a as good, its just getting to HB. Not too worried about time long as i have it for next spring :biggrin:

Oh would a 110 jap rod make a huge difference to the 107 factoring in the above.

I think if you buy the Imola kit you wont be disappointed, they are good and reliable... Scarborough Jeff (Jeff Grover) that goes on the Euros with us, has had a reliable kit for he recons 20,000 plus miles he has since had a blowup but it was a failure on something else that he said caused it... His Imola shows a clean pair of heels to most scooters not the fastest scooter, but frugal and quick enough to sit on the motorway at speeds of up to 75mph but with a cruising speed Sat Nav of 65+... The 190 Suzuki conversion is a good fast kit but off the shelf with little problem setting up I would take the Imola first.... And they can be tuned a little more if needed..!!

No comparison really, the Imola is miles ahead. RB20 'V' Imola, now that's a different story.

The Imola will give you more power than the TS 185 option and will be more straight forward.
But you don't say anything about what you want to use it for exactly? Thrashing around/rallies/2 up?
I think the Imola will work out a few hundred quid more expensive but will be a few hundred quid better.
Where have you seen Imolas for under £400 ? Tass list them at £440, the cheapest I've seen are £418.
If you can tell us exactly what you aready have(gearbox/crank/ignition/exhaust) we can give you a better idea of how much everthing will cost.
The best barrel to do a TS 185 conversion on is a TV175 one. Or pick up a SR 186 barrel.

You can get the Imola in TV guise too, that's what mine is, probably why I like it so much.
Pattern Suzuki pistons are cheap though and you can probably pick up TV175 cylinders cheap and you can get a Mec Race crank with TV rod for around £100, I think the head will need reprofiling too.

the price is saw is a bit misleading, its on the LCGB or Stickys i saw it but looking again its just for the barrel, lol.

So on top of that, decent conrod - does the size matter here? GP150 crank: WOULD i be best changing it?

Anything else normaly other than carb, exhaust etc?
