Just building a touring 225 (rapido classic)with a 46mm wide exhaust port, the same as an early tv 200. Was going to use a 48mm clubman but would rather use a more conservative set up.What was the downpipe set up on a tv 200 to accomodate the exhaust port. Also
would using a standard exhaust with a 20 or 22 dellorto hold back the potential of the engine as a tourer or help it in terms of lower revving reliability

As I understand it, the downpipe section for TV200 was the same as all other S3's

The silencer itself was a specific unit numbered 19618060, although I believe this was dropped sometime during TV200's production run, and a "common" exhaust was used for all S3's (possible noise regs?)

My wife also thinks I need to get out more.......................

If you speak to Ray or Ben at AF's I think they will tell you that the 32mm down pipe and narrow tail pipe will be too restrictive. Asked most of these questions before fitting mine just so I had some idea of their thinking on their kit...

So does mine.......out of the garage :D :D :D :D

I believe the TV200 silencer was replaced by the SX150/GP125/GP200 silencer, initially because of fracturing the main bracket and later in 1970, to comply with new vehicle noise regulations. Part nos:- Exhaust pipe 19518010 and silencer 19518510.
Early S3 models (except TV200) used a similar silencer 19918060 with a mushroom baffle on the entry pipe.

Both of the former silencers are believed to have the same performance.

Need a new anorak now :!: :!: :!:
