Looking at collecting parts for my engine rebuild later this year i have decided on a 7-plate clutch by Marco Büttner now have to choose which crank and which manufacture, i would like a high torque engine so i am thinking 62-64mm stroke but is this over kill as it will run with my rapido 225 classic using 24mm mikuni and clubman exhaust.
Hoping to get 22bhp and 20ft/lb torque and keeping the revs below 6700

i always had a 4-plate clutch in my ts1 and my 205 honda.
do not know the sense of buying a 7-plate clutch for a 22hp-bike.
for the crank, i bought now my 8th mazzuchelli race crank for about 100.-gbp and NEVER
had problems. yes, i am travelling far.

beware of these "high-balanced super-race cranks" for 300.- or "super-pistons" for 120.-.
most of this stuff isn´t worth looking at. the first series productions of these parts where
crap. the pistons break and cranks are also twisting and loosing its balance weights.
use good old quality stuff. wiseco pistons, mahle pistons and get your 60mm or 62mm crank made by a good tuner (e.g. taffspeed) or a good bike service-shop.
buy a good original jap-conrod-kit, get a good crank (webs) and let it be done by professionals.
get the crank balanced afterwards and maybe checked by another shop.
