Running TS1 22bhp with Foxhat spider MB crown wheel, Winco spider and six green Surflex plates with 1.2 mm steels. Has around 5mm separation yet I'm getting clutch slip and drag. Do these plates benefit from an overnight soaking, I thought they just needed a dipping before assembly?

With 5mm sepeartion, couldnt you get another plate in there with MBs 1mm steels?
And yes......always soak plates over night.
I use the FOXHAT 6 plate setup on my racer.......no slippage.

I only started using the Foxhat spider this year. Top quality I have had no problem with slip or drag. Same setup as yours MB sprocket Winco, six Surflex plates. Like them that much just bought another Three to fit to two engines I am building and to replace an old clutch in another engine for Big Daft Pete.

No, just sceptical of what I get told by some dealers. The old " You've sent me an SX one, I wanted GP" "They only do SX, you need to grind off the nipple, or you can send it back and we'll grind it off for you". Why not tell me that when I ordered it, it's not a problem but helps to know
