As I'm going to have a liquid cooled head on my Lammy I'm trying to find info and guides on liquid cooling. Anyone got any links they could point my way to?

when I did my water cooled primmie I used a shower pump made by whale, not the best of choioces but they are good with spares, based in ireland.

now I would check evilbay for TZ 12volt water pumps much better quality, I think about 50-60 quid for a new one. remember that you do not need a massive radiator, something off a 200-250 bike will do..

I had the water pump on mine controlled by a switch that came from the bottom of a fiat radiator, its a 22mm fine thread on one end with two Lucas connectors on the other, very reliable. check your lokal car breakers, Im sure that other cars with an electric fan on the rad will have something similar and probably smaller.

Im sure that you will work out all the other bits and bobs easily enough, you can have a slightly higher compression ratio but Im not a lambretta man so I can`t guide you on that,

Cheers troops.

Steve, thanks for the info. I picked up a neat radiator off a Gilera Runner.

I'll look out for the TZ pump. Will I be able to put the pump in the legshield tool box?

The only pump I can find is the BGM one on here. Wouldn't mind seeing some different one's I could use.

One of our club has been running a 210 malossi with a watercooled head for years. I think he uses a pump from a caravan. I'll check with him on that but also I'm sure I've heard some car fuel pumps work well.

The caravan pump people used to use was made by a company called 'whale'. They used to be about £50 but I've had a quick look on tinternet and cant find the model. The car one is from a Mercedes, either the air-con or the wash/wipe and they were about £130. I'd be having a look at the BGM pump thats been advertised latley, rest of the gear they produce seems good quality, might be worth a call to the local distributer. Now I wonder who that might be.........

let us know how you get on fella.

they are about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long and a little less than 2 inces in diameter they turn up on evilbay every couple of months.

there is a yam owners site that might be helpfull, but the members seem a little dim,

there is also a tz owners club, the head honcho is called steve jackson.
there are a few yam dealers that specialise in tz racing parts, a good yam dealer is;

yam bits,
po box 61,
boroughbridge,
york.

try a google search,

hope you get sorted

Thanks a lot for the info lads.

Another question I was wondering...

Is there any info around on setting up liquid Cooling? What's needed rad, hose, pump, pump switch? What to avoid. I'm really doing this from nothing without any info and I can't seem to find any websites on the setting up of LC on a Lambretta/bike

Would really appreciate any info.
