How do they work and what is the best type / style for a Lambretta ?

I'm thinking of getting this one, my concern is that it may snap open a little too quickly when I hit a bump...

have these on my RB and TS and no issue at all

Yup, i have one on the racer....its not as 'quick' as you think, but much better than standard.

yup same here but had a motoer x one on my taff years ago i thought that was slightly quicker because the wheel in the mounting was bigger used to sit on handlebars right where my mastercylinder is now did look cool though throttle going in through top of headstock.

I already have one of SLJ's QA throttle wheel's on my Jet and GP standard bars - and it works a treat....

However, it doesn't work on 'dropped' bars - hence my posting.....

Yeah, I've got one of the SLJ ones. Hadn't ridden the scooter without it, but understand they're almost a must with bigger carbs. It is certainly a good bit of kit - essentially they just have a different profile to the normal throttle cog.

I think they're graduated to an extent, so the difference is more muted when you start opening the throttle, but get to wide open through the second half much more quickly. Don't know who stocks them in the UK, but here's what they look like:
