Welcome to one of my pet issues, fork link bolts/bushes.
The link has a nylon/plastic bush press fitted in.
A steel bush goes in to that. It usually falls in.............not always.
Then a bolt goes into the steel bush, again it falls in..............
Surely the inner bush should be a snug fit that turns within the outer bush.
The bolt should be a tight fit into the inner bush in order to avoid rotation/wear between bolt and steel inner bush.
Thus all rotation is between the bushes, not he bolt and inner bush.

That's how all the kits i fit work and i fettle them accordingly.

If the bolt is rotating in the inner bush? Why bother with an inner bush at all. Make the nylon bush to fit the link and the bolt.

thanks for you reply Daggs i totally agree with you on that the ones that have arrived the inner metal bush falls into the outer nylon bush and the bolt falls into the metal bush and there is side to side movement, just wondered what people thought to be acceptable

Ive justbought one from scootopia bolt, nut, star washer C cups inner and outer bush £10 always spot on , it might be worth measuring the bolt as some are a little undersize I have a vast collection of bushes inner and out plus bolts all used the bolt should measure about 11.95mm most industrial fixings measure 11.75mm , cant help on the "correct" way the bushes work but the s1/2 inner bushes rotate inthe brass bush but are lubricated by the grease hole they have but there not a exceptionally tight fit on the bolt either
