after seeing the conversion byron, soulsurfer and coaster have done and being a bit nervous that the stator doesnt put out enough power to charge the battery with more than the std amount of lights on. i have sent my dead sil stator away to have all the coils rewound inc LT coil, they also hopefully have a jap pickup to put on it .
spoke to them today and they laughed at the quality of the windings and the wire used, have been promised it will be a lot more powerful when i get it back .

i will post results on here as soon as i get it back 8-)

Come to think of it has anybody tried doing it yourself with the ScootRS 12v coils? Just wondering what they are like really.

I think the scootrs coils use a thinner size wire similar to the lighting coils of the original Innocenti stator, so it is better to use 2 of the coils in parallel with the other two. Using them in series, although increasing unloaded voltage would, I think, restrict current due to the higher impedance within the coils.
