Has anybody some some data on a direct comparison between the Sterling against the JL3 pipe across the rev range or for that matter a JL4. I constantly here that the stainless Sterling pipe is not that good and OK if your on a tight a budget so I am interested in any potential performance gains I can get if I fit a JL. On the other hand ever other scooter you see seems to be fitted with a Sterling or SccotRs and some people here have praised them very highly. In the mags they always have the major players pipes on test, all at the best part of £300 a pop but never with the cheaper alternatives to compare so I wonder if this is intentional? I must admit mine has been a trusty servant, not real signs of ware after 3000 miles and performance seem OK on my stage 5 cast 225.
The problem is that the JL’s are not cheap and to fit one only to find no real performance increase would not be good situation but I can’t help feeling that perhaps this is the way to go to get a large kick when power come in.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
