pk80 gearbox assemby

hi chaps,rebuilding a pk80 engine for a mate,came as a box of bits,just need advice on the loose gears assembly,one side of each of the 4 gears has a raised boss
,as you put them on the mainshaft does the raised boss point to you(flywheel side)have assembled it this way and sliding dog and gears all seem to mesh correctly,cheers
