Hello,
The light switch housing of my TV175 2nd series is cracked. So I bought a Casa replica housing to replace it. Unfortunately the screw holes turn out to be misaligned. Consequently only one of the two screws can't be fully attached and there is a gap.

This made me wonder if the steering and housing were matched pairs by Lambretta, which makes it understandable that the replacement doesn’t have a perfect fit, or that this replica is not properly machined.

Always worthwhile getting original stuff repaired.

Most likely the latter, bad remanufactured part.

Quite disapointing for a manufacturer who claims to produce high-grade products and to give the best service and the highest quality at the best prices. According to the shop where I bought it it is within the normal tolerance range...

Repair will be probably difficult. It will be a challange to weld the cracks in the thin walled aluminium casting around the handle hole.

Any references for an alternative replica manufacturer/supplier.

Wow! That's a terrible fit. I was looking at buying a Casa replacement a while back, but have since managed to find an original. I'm really glad I didn't buy one now. AFAIK Casa are the only company remaking these.

1.) Send it back and demand a refund. This the only way that manufacturers will stop selling inferior, ill-fitting parts.

2.) Send the original switch housing to MB or Dean Stradling (or any competent welder / machinist) and get it repaired. As mentioned above, original parts are always worth saving.
