Chrome plating removal.
Earlier i dragged an old series 3 Lambretta side casing from behind a pile of junk at the back of the shed. Structurally its in good nick, but once upon a time it was chromed. As you can imagine the oxidising has got to it,so its peeling quite badly. Anybody have any suggestions on how to remove the remaining chrome plating. Ive peeled off as much as i can,but there is quite a bit left on,and in really awkward places

Frost Restorations (Frost.Co.Uk) sell chrome stripper ! Not cheap and I have yet to try it.
IMO you need to take it to the chrome platers to have it removed properly

This is a bit of a bodge but I had some handlebar lever supports that were flaky chrome. I heated them up with a blow lamp to expand the aluminium the chrome split and I could pick it off.
Be very careful not to melt the aluminium.
