Replacing front hydraulic brake hose.

I need to replace my front brake hose. Anyone had any luck using the old hose to pull a new one through or is it a horncast off job?

I always feed them through the forks from the bottom. Bare hose, taped up to not fray (in the case of braded hose), clean up, then refit the end fittings.
Sometimes the fork needs a bit of paint blob removal to get through.
